About The Position

At Horizon Bank, protecting our customers and communities is at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a hands‑on, integrity‑driven professional to join our team as a Fraud/BSA Specialist. This role supports the VP of Deposit Operations and plays a key part in the day‑to-day investigative work that keeps our bank safe, responsive, and trusted.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Central Texas offices (Tarver Drive, Temple, TX) with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule. We offer competitive compensation designed to reward strong performance, reliability, and long-term contribution.

Requirements

• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business, Accounting, Finance, or another related field and 3+ years of related BSA/AML experience, fraud, or financial crimes investigations; or the equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties of this position.
• Action oriented mindset with excellent investigative and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Verafin (preferred) or similar systems.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Verafin (preferred) or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Daily fraud casework, including complex and escalated investigations.
• Resolve Reg E claims and coordinate across payment channels.
• Conduct CDD reviews and support ongoing AML monitoring.
• Review BSA and fraud alerts in Verafin and coordinate CTR and fraud related SAR workflows.
• Work closely with frontline employees, the BSA team, and account officers to move cases forward and maintain clear communication.
• Contribute to process improvement and help strengthen Horizon’s fraud and BSA programs.
• Other duties as assigned and/or taken on.
