About The Position

The Franciscan Nurse Internship Program supports nursing students as they complete their nursing degree and helps ease their transition into nursing practice. Interns work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist with high-quality patient care, gain hands-on clinical experience, recognize signs and symptoms, and learn how to respond. The internship provides a safe, nurturing environment for developing nursing skills and is offered at Franciscan Health locations in Lafayette, Rensselaer, and Crawfordsville, Indiana. Interns are paid to work 8–12 hours per month and receive tuition assistance for the last three semesters of their nursing program. Participants are expected to work on their assigned unit with an assigned RN preceptor and, after obtaining an LPN or RN credential, commit to 3,744 hours (two years) of full-time service. Applications are submitted online, and candidates are asked to attend a panel interview.
