The MIG Welder welds metal frame parts to specification based on engineering documents and shop travelers. This position is focused on getting the job done right the first time by placing a high emphasis on quality of workmanship, accountability, safety, and teamwork.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand engineering documents and shop travelers.
Ability to layout and load materials using basic math and handheld measuring tools.
Knowledge of welding tool operation and maintenance.
Knowledge and application of unique safety requirements for welding.
Ability to perform both manual and machine welding techniques.
Understanding of finished product characteristics.
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years manufacturing experience in a high volume, fast paced production environment.
Dexterous with manufacturing equipment, basic power tools and machinery

Nice To Haves

Metalworking / Hollow Metal fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support all continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S and existing manufacturing processes.
Provide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvements in regards to productivity and procedural changes.
Ensure the machine is always running.
Communicate any issues that prevent product flow.
Know and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.
Embrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.
Do daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized.
Flexible schedule is required in regard to overtime and start time according to work volumes.
Set up and operate welding tools and maintain continuous workflow through adherence of documented processes.
Assist with daily PM schedule for machine, manuals and procedures.
Perform first part inspections as well as in-process quality checks.
