About The Position

The Frame Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Frame Building department and providing direction and support to Frame Builders. This position ensures that frames are built safely, efficiently, and according to established quality standards and production requirements. The Frame Supervisor coordinates workflow, monitors employee performance, addresses production and quality concerns, and helps maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in furniture manufacturing, frame building, woodworking, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
Previous leadership, supervisory, or lead experience preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Supervise and provide daily direction to Frame Builders within the department.
Plan and coordinate daily work assignments to meet production schedules and department goals.
Monitor production flow and make adjustments as needed to maintain an efficient workflow.
Ensure frames are constructed accurately and according to specifications, drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
Inspect completed and in-process frames for quality, workmanship, dimensions, and proper assembly.
Identify and address quality issues and work with employees to correct problems and prevent recurring defects.
Train new and existing employees on proper frame-building procedures, equipment, tools, safety practices, and quality expectations.
Provide coaching, feedback, and direction to employees regarding job performance, attendance, work quality, and productivity.
Communicate production priorities, changes, and expectations clearly to department employees.
Monitor employee attendance and staffing levels and adjust assignments as needed to maintain production.
Work with other departments to coordinate material availability and ensure frames move through the production process efficiently.
Monitor the availability and condition of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies needed for production.
Report equipment, material, or process issues to the appropriate department or management.
Ensure employees follow all company safety policies, procedures, and proper equipment-use requirements.
Promote good housekeeping and organization within the Frame Building area.
Assist with identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
Maintain accurate production, quality, and employee-related records as required.
Conduct or participate in department meetings and communicate important information to employees.
Assist management with employee evaluations, performance concerns, disciplinary matters, and other employee-related issues as needed.
Serve as a resource for Frame Builders by answering questions and assisting with technical or process-related concerns.
Perform frame-building duties when necessary to support production, training, or staffing needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
