About The Position

People Architects seeks a seasoned HR professional to provide hands-on leadership, operational oversight, and project management support for a client navigating change within their People function. This consultant will serve as a trusted partner to client leadership, providing direction to an existing HR team while ensuring key operational priorities, employee support functions, and HR technology initiatives remain on track. The ideal candidate combines strong HR operations expertise, project management discipline, leadership capability, and the ability to quickly establish credibility in a complex and evolving environment. This highly visible, client-facing consulting engagement requires both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of progressive Human Resources or People Operations experience.
  • Experience leading HR Operations, People Operations, Shared Services, or HR Administration functions.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex HR projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience supporting or leading HRIS implementations, system migrations, or technology-driven process improvements.
  • Experience using PowerSchool and MS Office.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while influencing and partnering effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting education, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or related certification.
  • Previous consulting, interim, or fractional leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to an established HR team.
  • Help prioritize work, establish accountability, and create operational structure during a period of transition.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to identify risks, remove roadblocks, and ensure continuity across the People function.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee experience, HR operations, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee core HR operational processes, including employee support, benefits administration, compliance, reporting, and workforce data management.
  • Ensure HR processes are executed consistently, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Support employee relations matters and organizational challenges as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen processes and improve service delivery.
  • Provide oversight and project management support for an active HRIS implementation and related system initiatives.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to maintain project momentum and ensure successful execution.
  • Support process documentation, system adoption, and operational readiness.
  • Assess current people processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Help build scalable systems, workflows, and reporting structures.
  • Support leadership with workforce planning, organizational communication, and change management efforts.
  • Ensure alignment between people practices and organizational goals.
