Fractional HR Generalist

Gamesight
$60 - $80Remote

About The Position

Gamesight is seeking an experienced, fractional HR generalist to join their fully remote, 55-person performance marketing company. This role requires immediate stepping in to own the operational core of the HR function and build systems and automations for improvement. The ideal candidate will have the patience to trace and rebuild disconnected HR systems, a vision for improvement, and the discipline to complete tasks. The role offers a direct line to the Director of Operations, full admin access to the HR stack, and involves finding and fixing broken processes, documenting solutions, and providing recommendations for the future. This is a contract position estimated at 15 hours per week, with potential spikes during open enrollment and onboarding, and an initial commitment of 6 months. The company is looking for someone available to start in one to two weeks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience, with at least 1 year in a fractional, consulting, or multi-client capacity.
  • Deep, hands-on Rippling (or similar) experience at the admin level, including building and fixing workflows.
  • Multi-state payroll expertise, including experience handling tax compliance issues and flagging discrepancies.
  • Benefits administration fluency, including open enrollment, carrier coordination, HSA/FSA administration, and 401k.
  • Demonstrated systems-builder with experience diagnosing and improving broken HR infrastructure.
  • Strong documentation habits, including writing SOPs, Tango guides, and runbooks.
  • Heavy AI user with genuine judgment about its limitations, using AI to accelerate work and verifying output.
  • Excellent async communication skills, defaulting to written updates, proactive problem surfacing, and ensuring tasks are not left unaddressed.
  • Non-negotiable discretion regarding compensation, equity, performance, and confidential employee matters.
  • Comfort working on a contract basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Remote (EOR platform) for international employee management.
  • A genuine love of video, tabletop, and/or trading card games and enthusiasm for the gaming industry.
  • Located in Boise, Idaho.

Responsibilities

  • Learn end-to-end payroll processing in Rippling and act as a backup for the Finance team, handling multi-state FTE and PTE US employees, international contractors, EOR employees via Remote, and variable compensation inputs.
  • Audit and manage Rippling as the system of record, including employee records, role changes, org structure, P&L class assignments, and pay band maintenance.
  • Proactively flag and resolve tax compliance issues, coordinating with Finance on payroll inputs and reconciliation.
  • Administer benefits and equity programs across the full lifecycle, including employee questions, enrollments, changes, and carrier coordination with various vendors.
  • Own the bi-weekly HSA manual upload in Navia and build a system to streamline this process.
  • Lead September open enrollment planning with HUB, ensuring all carrier relationships are documented and accessible.
  • Resolve carrier support tickets.
  • Own E-Verify for all new US hires.
  • Manage state registration tracking and filing workflows.
  • Monitor and respond to state and federal compliance obligations, including tax notices, wage/hour, workers' comp, and audit items.
  • Assist the Director of Operations with Secureframe SOC2 compliance and flag any attention-needed items.
  • Audit the current HR tech stack, identify redundancies or issues, and propose a cleaner architecture.
  • Build or improve automation workflows in Rippling and connected tools to reduce manual work on recurring tasks.
  • Document every recurring HR process in Tango or an equivalent system.
  • Identify and implement AI tooling where appropriate to reduce administrative load.
  • Serve as the first line of communication for team members needing help with Rippling, employment verification letters, or tool access issues.
  • Provide lightweight recruiting coordination support, including candidate communications, scheduling, and pipeline tracking in Rippling.
  • Ensure onboarding logistics (equipment, tool access, paperwork) are covered for new hires by coordinating with appropriate partners.

Benefits

  • Flexible and independent work environment.
  • Opportunity to work remotely.
  • Meet up with colleagues at events, dinners, and an annual all-hands trip.
