About The Position

Fractional CTO (Spanish) – Technical Due Diligence Location: Remote (Mexico-based candidates preferred) Job Type: On-Demand Contract About BigRio: BigRio is a remote-based technology consulting firm headquartered in Boston, MA. Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles (CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar), ideally within startups, scale-ups, or M&A environments.
  • Proven track record in conducting technical due diligence for acquisitions, investments, or technology assessments.
  • Deep expertise in software architecture, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong understanding of technical debt, scalability challenges, and operational risks.
  • Experience with modern development stacks and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exceptional analytical and documentation skills with experience writing due diligence reports.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent French (written and verbal) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Private Equity, Venture Capital, or M&A teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
  • Experience leading technical integrations post-acquisition.
  • Previous experience in B2B SaaS, FinTech, Healthcare, or high-growth technology environments.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential risks, inefficiencies, and gaps in team structure, architecture, development, deployment, security, and operations that could impact business profitability and scalability.
  • Provide a structured evaluation of technical debt, security gaps, operational risks, business interruption risks, and talent gaps.
  • Validate findings based on business assumptions and provide recommendations on critical areas requiring attention.
  • Document and classify findings into Deal Blockers, Material Findings, and Non-Material Findings with clear justifications.
  • Produce detailed TDD reports covering product, people, technology, and processes to provide a complete overview of the target company's technical landscape.
  • Recommend best practices to enhance the efficiency of the due diligence process and create a more structured approach.
  • Present findings and recommendations to investors, executives, and decision-makers in a clear and actionable manner.
