About The Position

SimpsonScarborough is building a talent pipeline for our growing Fractional CMO service. We partner with higher education institutions navigating a leadership transition, a reorganization, a budget-constrained moment, or a period of significant change, giving them senior marketing leadership without forcing an immediate permanent hire.

Requirements

• Senior marketing leadership experience (CMO, VP of Marketing, or equivalent)
• Experience holding real budget and personnel authority
• A track record of specific, quantifiable outcomes, beyond general oversight

Nice To Haves

• Higher education experience strongly preferred; comparable experience in complex, mission-driven institutions considered

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing a marketing function's structure and gaps
• Providing senior marketing leadership to higher education institutions during periods of transition, reorganization, budget constraints, or significant change.
• Acting as a senior marketing leader without requiring an immediate permanent hire.
