About The Position

Nienhuis Financial Group is seeking a Fractional CFO/Controller focused on small business to support its growing fractional and managerial accounting practice. The firm serves private companies with $1–$75 million in revenue across a variety of industries, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. The role involves building and maintaining client relationships, providing financials and controller services, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The position may manage a team of 3–5 employees.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong business acumen.
• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Strong technical and interpersonal leadership skills.
• Ability to lead teams, including coaching, delegation, and performance management.
• High proficiency with accounting software.
• BA in accounting, business administration, business management, or another related field.
• At least 10 years of accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or project lead experience.

Nice To Haves

• MBA, master’s in accounting, or another related field.
• At least 2 years of client management experience.
• CPA certification.
