About The Position

As an FPGA Engineer, you will play an active role in every phase of the FPGA development cycle, including the design, installation, and troubleshooting of the firmware used to design FPGA based hardware systems and their components. You will architect, implement, and maintain complex FPGA designs. You will adapt systems quickly to meet changing business needs, assist with the management of upgrades to existing systems and implementation of new systems, and serve as a technical resource to the team. You will also support planning development activities, perform technical design and code reviews, and deliver to objectives including meeting deadlines and schedules. You will understand hardware and software interactions and collaborate with hardware engineers. You will maintain and improve existing designs and source code to help attain the goal of a modular structure. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Maintain US Citizenship.
Maintain Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
Good interpersonal and communication skills to work and communicate with internal and external customers.
Extensive knowledge of computer hardware.
Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog and System Verilog HDL languages.
Strong analytical thinking skills.
Strong programming and code writing skills.
Experience with testing, validation, and debugging tools.
5+ years relevant experience in firmware development.

Nice To Haves

Experience and know how to use Matlab and other similar tools to generate appropriate data sets and logic generation coefficients.
Experience and use of Xilinx Vivado FPGA design tools.
Experience with Linux operating procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

Architect, implement, and maintain complex FPGA designs.
Use and implement constraints using tcl based scripts and commands.
Debug designs using simulations and ILA real-time analyzers.
Simulate logic designs and built testbenches.
Adapt systems quickly to meet changing business needs.
Assist with the management of upgrades to existing systems and implementation of new systems.
Write scripts, conduct testing, and resolve debugging tasks.
Serve as a technical resource to the team.
Handle testing, system performance, environmental and system troubleshooting.
Support planning the development activities, perform technical design and code reviews.
Deliver to objectives including meeting deadlines and schedule.
Understand hardware and software interactions and collaborate with hardware engineers.
Maintain and improve existing designs and source code to help attain the goal of a modular structure.
