About The Position

Keysight is seeking an FPGA intern to support development of wireline Ethernet test products. The intern will work with advanced technologies and standards, including FPGA logic operating at 600+ MHz and line speeds exceeding 1600 Gbps, alongside hardware and software engineers developing a state-of-the-art wireline Ethernet test system. The role contributes to test instruments built with the latest-generation FPGAs and multi-core CPUs to validate equipment and networks before deployment, supporting high-speed technologies for hyperscale data centers and carrier networks.

Working with a mentor, the intern will help design, develop, and implement new features and platforms, create product features, and drive process and code-base improvements. The level of the role will be based on applicable experience, education, and skills. Most offers will be between the minimum and midpoint of the listed salary range. Pay ranges vary by region outside California.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a B.Sc. or M.Sc. program in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CE).
• Have strong analytical skills.
• Have excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, and be able to read and interpret complex information.
• Be able to cultivate interpersonal relationships and cohesive team interactions and communications.
• Have proficiency in VHDL or Verilog.
• Have basic C programming knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Ethernet technologies from 1G to 1600G+.
• Experience with SerDes up to 212 Gbps, memory technologies such as DDR4 and RLDRAM3, and interconnect protocols such as PCIe and Interlaken.
• Understanding of data networks, networking protocols, switch/router operation, and protocol stack implementations.
• Understanding of interpreted languages such as Tcl or Python.
