About the position
Orbit Fab is seeking a candidate to support the development of their in-space refueling infrastructure. The role involves translating image processing algorithms into FPGA designs, creating test benches, verifying designs, and troubleshooting complex FPGA/SOC based designs. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in Microchip and Xilinx technologies, as well as experience with tools like Vivado, Libero, Synplify, SmartHLS, and HDL coder. Additionally, knowledge of C++/C, Python, Matlab, Verilog, and VHDL is required. Experience with code management and agile development is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support architecture decisions, technical trades, system reviews, and FPGA code reviews
- Translate image processing algorithms designed in C into a working FPGA design
- Translate requirements into FPGA design
- Create test benches to verify design
- Perform bitwise verification of image processing algorithms
- Document FPGA design
- Support testing and troubleshooting of complex FPGA/SOC based designs and recommend solutions
Requirements
- Proficiency with recent Microchip and Xilinx technologies
- Experience supporting multiple design life cycles including requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and test
- Proficiency with tools like Vivado, Libero, Synplify, SmartHLS, and/or HDL coder
- Proficiency with C++/C, Python, Matlab, Verilog, and/or VHDL
- Verifying design through test bench creation and power/timing analysis
- Experience supporting troubleshooting schematic, FPGA, or SOC designs in a lab setting with oscilloscope, logic analyzers, and other various lab equipment
- Experience with code management and agile development
