About The Position

Nu is seeking an FP&A Senior Expert to lead financial planning and analysis for businesses beyond its core Latin American markets, currently Nu US and Nu Global, and for future new geographies. The role owns financial planning from the initial business case through launch, including building P&Ls, establishing planning and forecasting, and providing leadership with an independent assessment of business performance. It involves modeling new businesses with limited operating history and evolving product, legal, and regulatory plans across credit card, lending, banking, and international money movement products. As businesses mature, their FP&A transitions into a permanent structure, and the role moves on to the next new market. The position also leads financial analysis of potential opportunities and contributes to discussions about future expansion. It operates with significant autonomy and regular senior-leadership exposure, requiring evidence-based positions, constructive pushback, and responsiveness to feedback. This is a senior individual-contributor role and the technical lead for a small team of up to three analysts. The role sets the standard for their work and develops them while remaining hands-on in financial models and analysis.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Extensive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate development, or business analysis in financial services, such as banking, card issuing, payments, remittance, or fintech.
Ability to build financial-product P&Ls and forecasting models from scratch, understand interactions among P&L lines, and identify errors in models.
Direct experience with international money transfer, payment networks, or stablecoins.
Deep understanding of cross-border remittance economics, payment networks, and stablecoins, with working knowledge of crypto.
Ability to build planning processes from incomplete information, make assumptions explicit, and work in a builder-oriented environment.
Ability to present clearly and authoritatively to senior executives, defend analysis, and adapt when new information changes the answer.
Ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders and legal, risk, and regulatory teams, and influence decisions without formal authority.
Ability to use modern analytics and AI tools while applying human judgment to review their output.
Ability to coach analysts, provide direct feedback, and lead by example.
Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

Own planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles for Nu US and Nu Global, ensuring the integrity of the numbers and Finance’s position with leadership.
Build financial services P&Ls from first principles across credit, banking, and payments products, and model how product, pricing, and funding decisions affect business results and Nubank’s consolidated P&L.
Lead financial evaluations of new markets and products, including unit economics, capital and funding requirements, legal entity and licensing structures, and business cases for senior leadership.
Develop expertise in cross-border money movement, including FX, funds-in and funds-out costs, card network economics, and stablecoin rails, and serve as a Finance reference on these topics.
Partner with new-business leaders and bring Finance perspectives into pricing, product, and investment decisions early enough to shape them.
Prepare clear, concise executive materials that simplify complex topics, often on short timelines.
Coach analysts, review their work, set the team’s analytical standard, and establish processes and documentation that support clean FP&A transitions as businesses mature.
Drive use of AI, advanced analytics, and automation in planning and analysis, while reviewing and challenging AI-generated output.
Present to and influence senior leadership on strategic decisions.
Mentor or lead analysts.
