FP&A Manager

Utility Revenue ServicesDublin, OH
Hybrid

About The Position

We are hiring an FP&A Manager to own the planning, analysis, and reporting function at Utility Revenue Services (“URS”). URS supports multifamily residential real estate owners with services that maximize recovery of their utility costs and increase net operating income. The company is 19 years old, led by two of its founders, and recently PE-backed. This is a foundational hire on a small finance team. You will work directly with the CFO across financial modeling, board and investor reporting, transaction analytics, and the ongoing analytical work that supports a fast-scaling business. You will run the FP&A function under the CFO at a fast-scaling company. The role is built for someone who wants real ownership of the function with direct exposure to the CFO and CEO. The first two to four months focus on direct support of the monthly accounting close, giving you fast exposure to the business from the books up and providing critical accounting capacity during the onboarding period. Expect full-cycle accounting work in this phase: journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, and supporting the close. The role then transitions into the full FP&A scope as accounting capacity is back-filled.

Requirements

  • Four to eight years of progressive FP&A experience, ideally including end-to-end ownership of a financial model.
  • Strong Excel and modeling skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • Tech and AI Fluency: You pick up new technology fast. You already use Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools to accelerate analytical work, automate tasks, and process unstructured data. You understand prompt engineering basics and can evaluate when AI output needs human judgment.
  • Ownership Mindset: You take a workstream from blank page to final deliverable without daily check-ins. You ask questions when something does not add up. You write and present clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable being the only FP&A person on the team today, with the understanding that the team will scale.
  • Comfortable in a small, fast-moving, PE-backed environment where the playbook is being written as you go.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CFA, or MBA are pluses, not requirements.
  • Exposure to programming (any language) or comfort with system and database architecture is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the integrated financial model. Run scenarios, stress-test assumptions, and produce the analysis behind capital allocation decisions, transaction support, and the rolling forecast.
  • Lead the production of monthly board materials, lender reporting packages, the covenant dashboard, and the KPI dashboard. Improve them over time.
  • Support integration analytical work for any strategic transactions: day-one readiness, synergy tracking, combined-entity reporting build, and post-close variance and run-rate analysis.
  • Own service-line gross margin analysis, revenue forecast, headcount planning, and the ad-hoc analyses the CEO, CFO, and Board need to make decisions.
  • Identify ways to automate, simplify, and modernize our recurring workflows using AI and modern tooling. We are an AI-forward finance shop and we expect the FP&A Manager to push that further.

Benefits

  • Work remotely or from our Hinsdale, IL office.
  • We hire for output, not seat time.
