About The Position

St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School (SSSAS) of Alexandria, VA is looking to hire a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher for fourth grade who wants to make a real difference in the lives of students. The school is seeking a Fourth Grade Teacher to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons and activities based on the established curriculum, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and standards. They will also adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom, establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, and implement effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and social-emotional growth. The successful candidate will maintain open and clear communication with parents/guardians regarding students' progress and classroom activities, and collaborate with other teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development. All members of the faculty are expected to instill the school's mission by helping their students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens. The successful candidate will be required to exercise professional judgment and responsibility in keeping with the expectations of the School's faculty.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or the equivalent.
  • A strong commitment to educating a diverse student body within a caring and creative environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous teaching experience in an elementary classroom.
  • Strong references who confirm the applicant's ability to exercise sound professional judgment.
