About The Position

The qualified individual must be an evangelical Christian committed to living a biblical lifestyle and in full agreement with the school’s statement of faith. He/she is expected to understand and live out a biblical worldview in all areas and able to teach that worldview in the classroom. He/she must maintain a teachable spirit while demonstrating patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing his/her day-to-day duties. The teacher shall be one who feels called of God to the teaching profession. He/she must be devoted to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students, and parents to develop and maintain a school which is thoroughly Christian and academically exceptional. The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the glory of God. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.   • Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, faculty, parents, and administration.
  • Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and to grow in their faith.
  • Possess the ability to work gracefully with parents, students, and other school staff.
  • Demonstrate the ability to accept and carry out responsibilities and make competent, professional decisions.
  • Be willing to eagerly participate in professional development.
  • Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their children's education and be prepared to assist them in that task.
  • Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy.

  • Be willing to provide input and constructive recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.
  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent.
  • Have completed student teaching and/or other educational field experience.

  • Supervise students in different settings as needed, including recess, the cafeteria, the classroom, in assemblies, and on field trips.

  • Partner with the families and build a rapport.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with parents/guardians keeping them updated and engaged on the happenings in the classroom, the instructional program, and their individual child.
  • Use parents as a resource.
  • Actively encourage parents to contact me if they have any questions or concerns.
  • Send out a weekly newsletter.
  • Collaborate with parents to develop approaches to help students both at school and at home as needed.
  • Have a thorough understanding of biblical worldview and apologetics and implement in the classroom.
  • Start with the Scriptures in all areas.
  • Utilize materials that are approved.
  • Open classes with prayer and pray during the day with and for students.
  • Refute false religions.
  • Clearly present the Biblical account.
  • Ensure classroom environment reflects biblical teaching.
  • Connect all subjects to the Bible and look at each subject in light of God’s Word.
  • Remember that our work is for Him: “Wherefore we labor, that, whether absent or present, we may be accepted of Him” (2 Corinthians 5:9).
  • Agree that leading, teaching, or working in this school ministry is a privilege.
  • Remember that we stand before our students and their parents representing the Lord.
