About The Position

The General Labourer is responsible for assisting in different tasks as required in the production/finishing processes.

Requirements

• Understand English - oral, written and reading, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Ability to follow appropriate departmental work instructions, including health and safety rules and procedures
• Able to lift 46 lbs. and over
• 3 years experience operating forklift and a valid licence
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
• Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task and highly organized
• Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
• Capable of standing for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

• Overhead Crane Operator certified, or willing to be trained

Responsibilities

• Transport raw materials, castings and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
• Verify weight of materials and products
• Pick up castings from the conveyors and place them into buggies
• Manually load/unload Shotblaster machines
• Core knockout
• Operate Pressure Tester unit
• Operate Punch press machine
• Sort, pack, crate and package castings
• Assist machine operators and other workers when required
• Ensure all Safety Rules and Regulations are followed at all times
• Use utmost discretion in dealing with company and customers' confidential data
• Meet production standards as specified in job order and/or ISO documents
• Responsible for cleaning equipment and work station on a daily basis
• Operate equipment in a safe manner, including to immediately report any equipment malfunctions
• May perform other tasks as deemed appropriate
