About The Position

Hubbell Power Systems is seeking a Foundry Specialist for their Connectors Location in Leeds, AL. This role involves performing various tasks in a foundry environment, including melting metal, pouring metal into molds, removing and dressing castings, moving materials, and cleaning equipment and work areas. The specialist will also be responsible for operating and monitoring machines, executing machine setups for production, and becoming skilled in various production tasks to provide support as needed. Ensuring the quality of produced products, reading and interpreting blueprints, safety rules, and operating instructions, and using measuring tools are key aspects of the job. The role also includes performing basic inspections of assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must have background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be physically able to handle heavy items including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products.
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies.
  • Must be able to consistently stand for entire shift.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Strong work ethic and strong attention to detail.
  • Must be reliable and trustworthy.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating a forklift is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs any combination of following tasks in foundry concerned with melting metal, pouring metal into molds, removing castings from molds, dressing castings, moving foundry materials, and cleaning equipment and work areas.
  • Moves sand, castings, flasks, or other materials about foundry by hand, using wheelbarrow or cart, or by loading them onto conveyor.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Responsible for operating and monitoring machine(s).
  • Will execute setup of machines for production.
  • Must become skilled at various production task in order to fill in on an as needed basis.
  • Ensure quality of produced product.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules and operating instructions as well as utilize measuring tools on a daily basis.
  • Work from routings, instruction sheets, blueprints, or other instructions to manufacture product at required quality levels.
  • Perform basic inspection of assembled product to ensure product meets set quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
