About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of the maintenance department to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the foundry and facility equipment. This position provides hands-on leadership to maintenance personnel, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and works closely with production to maintain operational equipment performance that supports operational goals. This position is expected to be actively involved in troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment improvement activities while providing leadership and direction to the maintenance team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of three years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC controlled equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience developing and managing preventive maintenance.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent industrial maintenance training
  • Experience in a ductile iron or gray iron foundry.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Crane maintenance experience.
  • Predictive maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and industrial electricians.
  • Assign daily work activities based on production priorities and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate staffing, overtime, and emergency maintenance coverage as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing employee development.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel follow company safety policies, standard operating procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and repair of equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Schedule and complete preventive maintenance activities.
  • Prioritize maintenance work orders based on safety, production impact and equipment criticality.
  • Lead and assist maintenance technicians with complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC related troubleshooting.
  • Assist with installation, startup, and relocation of equipment.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of maintenance areas.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades that improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment including but not limited to: Green sand molding systems, core machines, sand handling systems and mullers, shakeout systems, conveyors, dust collection systems, melt furnace equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, overhead cranes, pumps, motors, gearboxes, industrial equipment and facility support equipment.
