About The Position

This position is for a Foundry Host/Hostess at the AC Hotel Dayton. The role involves ensuring compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department, maintaining food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications, and ensuring effective communication with the General Manager, other Department Managers, Supervisors, and Staff. Shaner Hotels is an award-winning hospitality owner-operator and management company with a portfolio of over 65 properties across 14 states and four countries. The AC Hotel Dayton is a 134-room hotel located in the Water St. District of Dayton, OH, offering views of the Dayton Dragons baseball stadium from its rooftop bar/restaurant and guestrooms.

Requirements

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant / Food and Beverage field.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training.
• Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).

Nice To Haves

• Some college preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.

Responsibilities

• Courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating, ensuring hotel's standards of service.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and always maintaining the cleanliness of the room.
• Take, record, and confirm reservations as specified in the department’s standards.
• Assist in monitoring the guests' needs and all phases of the operation.
