About The Position

Build the first GovCloud backend for a wearable biosensor platform serving military and veteran health. No legacy mess. Real equity. Founder-level ownership if earned. Our client is building a wearable biometric platform for military, VA, and federal health use cases. Your work turns real-time biometric signals into secure tools for military and veteran health. You will not inherit old architecture. You will design it, build it, harden it, and help scale the team around it. This is for a builder who wants the hard seat. You own outcomes, solve under pressure, and keep moving when the path is not obvious.

Requirements

• 5+ years backend or full-stack engineering
• Strong API and cloud architecture skills
• Government cloud or secure cloud experience
• FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST, DFARS, or HIPAA/HITECH exposure
• U.S. citizenship required
• Texas-based or willing to relocate to Austin

Nice To Haves

• AWS GovCloud or Azure Government experience
• Biometric, wearable, or device-cloud experience
• Active Secret, TS, or TS/SCI clearance
• Founding engineer or early-stage startup experience
• HL7, FHIR, CCDA, VA RPM, or CMS experience
• SBIR, OTA, or DoD acquisition exposure

Responsibilities

• Build secure backend systems from zero to one
• Own APIs, data pipelines, and cloud architecture
• Connect wearable sensors to clinical dashboards
• Design GovCloud systems for federal users
• Support FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST, and DFARS paths
• Build real-time biometric data workflows
• Harden systems for audit-ready environments
• Help hire and shape the first technical team
