About The Position

We're building Percy, the AI agent that runs financial crime investigations end to end. Compliance teams at banks and fintechs are drowning in financial crimes investigations. Transaction volumes are surging, regulators keep raising the bar, and the work still runs on manual review queues that take hours and are stitched together from legacy vendors. We believe AI will make most of these decisions within a few years, so we built Percy to handle them. Percy learns each team's procedures and makes the same calls their analysts would: clearing false positives, escalating real risk, writing the case narrative, and documenting every decision for audit. It cuts review workloads by 70%+ and routinely catches fraud that human reviewers miss. Percy is only possible because of the identity platform we've spent four years building underneath it. Because we own the entire identity flow, Percy resolves ambiguity at the source, running its own checks across our verification tools before a case ever reaches a human. We're backed by QED, Index, Box Group, and Lerer Hippeau, and trusted by companies like Bilt, Nuvei, and MoonPay. We 5x'd revenue last year and plan to do it again in 2026. The team is small, senior, and ships fast. Hiring is one of the highest-leverage things we do, and as our first dedicated recruiter, it's yours to own. You'll run full-cycle recruiting across every team, with a particular focus on engineering, and deliver a high-quality experience for candidates, interviewers, and hiring managers. At our size every hire noticeably changes the team, so you'll work closely with hiring managers and leadership to figure out exactly who we need and then go win them, building the process and tooling as you go. You'll report directly to the Chief of Staff.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of full-cycle recruiting, including in-house at a top startup.
  • You've recruited in a fast, high-bar environment, run searches on your own from first outreach to close, and know what great looks like.
  • A relationship builder. You're great with people and build trust quickly, with candidates and hiring managers alike.
  • Relentless and high-agency. You go find the best people instead of waiting on inbound, and you're comfortable with the ambiguity of an early-stage company.
  • High standards and good judgment. You can tell the difference between good and exceptional, and you hold that line even when a hire is urgent.
  • A strong engineering-recruiting track record. You've sourced and closed strong engineers and can hold your own in technical conversations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a recruiting agency, in addition to in-house.
  • Fluency with modern recruiting tooling: Ashby (or a similar ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and sourcing and outreach tools.
  • Experience recruiting GTM, marketing, or operations roles alongside engineering.
  • Exposure to fintech, AI, or other technical, high-bar markets.

Responsibilities

  • Source and hire n-of-1 talent. Find the exceptional people across every team, write outreach that gets replies, and build long-term relationships with them before roles even open.
  • Own the candidate experience. Run initial screens and be candidates' first impression of Footprint. Sell the mission, get the best people genuinely excited to join, and keep every touchpoint sharp and respectful.
  • Run searches end to end. Move candidates from first touch to closed offer, managing scheduling, interviews, and offers, and keeping everything organized in our ATS (Ashby) so nothing slips.
  • Partner with hiring managers. Work with leads to define what great looks like for each role, design interview plans, and keep the bar consistent.
  • Manage agency relationships. Brief and manage our external recruiting agencies, and get the most out of them while holding them to our bar and timelines.
