About the Role We are looking for a Founding Recruiter to build the team that builds Vega. This is a high-leverage, zero-to-one role for a talent operator who can think strategically and execute relentlessly — often on the same day. As one of our founding in-house recruiters, you won't inherit a machine — you'll design one. You'll own the full hiring lifecycle across key functions, partner directly with the CEO and founding team to set the talent bar that defines what Vega becomes. The people you bring in will shape our culture, our product, and our trajectory. That's the weight of this role, and also the opportunity.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of full-cycle claims technical recruiting.
  • 2+ years at an early-stage company (Series A–C) where you built or influenced processes.
  • You run tight processes, create urgency without pressure, and win competitive offers on mission and culture — not just comp.
  • Quality is non-negotiable for you, even when the business is moving fast.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. You have an owner mentality and don't need a team around you to be effective.
  • You know how to create and develop recruiting events to attract and retain top talent.
  • Atlanta Based: Our team works together in person and you'll be embedded in that culture from day one. This is a hybrid role working out of our Buckhead office.

Responsibilities

  • Own sourcing through close across all Claims department jobs, partnering with agencies and other resources when applicable.
  • Identify the profiles we need before they're looking and build pipelines ahead of the requisition.
  • Push back on vague requirements. Define the right profile. Hold the bar even under pressure to fill seats fast.
  • Ensure candidates leave the process — accepted or not — with a strong impression of who we are.
  • Advise leadership on compensation benchmarks, market dynamics, org design, and where to invest hiring resources for maximum leverage.
  • Build the playbooks, workflows, and documentation that will set Vega up for long-term success.
  • Partner on recruiting and team events coordination and day-to-day office tasks, helping keep operations running smoothly.
