About The Position

Alpaca Health enables clinicians to become entrepreneurs, starting in autism care. They help clinicians launch and scale their own clinics by providing AI-powered software, payer contracting, and full back-office infrastructure, aiming to shift power in healthcare back to clinicians. The company has raised over $14M in funding and is growing 30% MoM, serving hundreds of patients. This full-time role is based in NYC or requires relocation, with a 5-day-a-week in-office presence. As the Founding Product Designer, you will fully own the 0→1 build of the parent-facing experience, transforming a complex journey into something simple and trustworthy for families. Concurrently, you will lead a design overhaul of the provider-facing product, turning a feature-rich EHR into an intuitive, fast, and enjoyable consumer-grade experience for clinicians. You will work across both surfaces to create a cohesive system that balances clinical depth with usability, establishing the design foundation for scalable care delivery.

Responsibilities

Own the 0→1 build of our parent-facing portal — from concept to live product
Design a seamless, consumer-grade experience for families navigating care (intake, scheduling, communication, payments)
Elevate our provider-facing EHR to feel intuitive, fast, and delightful — not clunky healthcare software
Conduct user interviews with parents, BCBAs, and staff to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs
Rapidly prototype and test user flows; iterate based on real usage and feedback
Define product requirements, prioritize ruthlessly, and ship quickly alongside engineering
Use AI tools (e.g., prototyping, workflow automation, copilots) to accelerate development and unlock new product capabilities
Build systems that scale — not just features — including onboarding flows, engagement loops, and operational tooling
Partner cross-functionally with ops, clinical, and growth teams to ensure product drives real outcomes (faster start of care, better retention, higher utilization)
