About The Position

This role exists to help build an engine for growth, starting with community and live experiences. The Travel Manager role is becoming increasingly important due to AI, cost pressures, efficiency requirements, and sustainability, requiring them to operate as strategic partners. This position will work closely with founders to design, build, and run growth channels, turning them into repeatable systems. It will also partner with Sales to drive pipeline, with shared ownership of outcomes. Community and events are the core of this role, reinforcing growth engines. Founders are deeply involved and will partner directly on programming, presence, and strategy.

  • Been a strong #2 and ready for a clear ownership role.
  • Comfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
  • Thoughtful, curious, and opinionated, with good judgment and taste.
  • Drawn to community, events, and relationship-driven growth.
  • Energized by small teams, fast feedback, and visible impact.
  • Willing to travel and be in the room where trust is built.
  • Curious about new AI tools and comfortable learning and experimenting in public.
  • Excited to travel ~25% of the time.
  • Early-stage startup growth or marketing background.
  • Passionate and active member of the travel community.
  • Community or events roles with real responsibility.
  • Consulting, operations, or generalist roles with external exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the purpose and direction of the community.
  • Design experiences that help Travel Managers stay relevant in an AI-driven world.
  • Build a repeatable cadence of sessions, workshops, and peer connections.
  • Partner with founders to maintain quality as the community grows.
  • Decide which events matter and what success looks like.
  • Design in-person moments that feel intentional, not transactional.
  • Turn events into momentum through preparation, presence, and follow-up.
  • Develop judgment around ROI in a relationship-driven market.
