Founding Full-Stack Engineer
About The Position
At Lume, we are solving one of the most complex challenges in data infrastructure: fully automating data transformation and modeling. This is a technically demanding problem requiring scalable data infrastructure, cutting-edge AI models, and intuitive user interfaces. We are looking for a full-stack engineer with strong front-end expertise to help us build a seamless, high-performance user experience for our customers. This role is approximately 70% front-end work, so if you love working on rich, performant web applications but also want to contribute meaningfully across the stack, we’d love to hear from you.
Requirements
- Expertise in front-end development: You have deep experience with React and TypeScript, and popular frontend frameworks for component design and state management.
- Full-stack capability: You can build and maintain FastAPI/Python backend services, develop APIs, and work with relational databases.
- Experience with PostgreSQL (or other relational databases): You’re comfortable designing schemas, writing queries, and optimizing database interactions.
- Strong communication & collaboration skills: You share ideas early, give and receive feedback openly, and iterate quickly.
- At least 3 years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis in building web applications using javascript/typescript and frameworks such as Next.js.
Nice To Haves
- A strong sense of UI/UX patterns: While you won’t be responsible for design, an understanding of intuitive and responsive UI best practices is a plus.
- Experience with AWS: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure for deployment and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Own the front-end: Design and develop high-performance experiences and interfaces for Lume’s core web app using React and TypeScript.
- Contribute across the stack: Work on FastAPI/Python backend services, API development, and PostgreSQL data models.
- Ship customer-facing features end-to-end: Build, test, and deploy features that enhance usability, scalability, and user experience.
- Take ownership: Work directly with the founders, engage with customers, and help shape the direction of our product and team.
