We are now looking for a Founding AI Engineer, Hedge Fund Agents who thrives on building production AI agents for the hedge fund industry on Unique’s platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software or ML/AI products, including 2+ years developing LLM-based systems
• Production GenAI delivery: demonstrated experience designing, deploying, operating and evaluating LLM-based applications in production environments, including agentic systems with tool calling and orchestration
• Engineering skills: strong proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices; experience with low-level LLM experimentation beyond frameworks
• Communication: exceptional communication and documentation skills; comfortable working with technical and business stakeholders, including senior client representatives, and communicating clearly when navigating ambiguity
• Right to work: this position requires you to live in/around New York and to have a valid work permit, as well as the willingness to visit clients on-site within the USA

Nice To Haves

• experience in financial services (hedge funds, asset management, trading, or fintech) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and evaluate production AI agents for hedge fund workflows (e.g., investment research, portfolio analysis, risk, and compliance) on top of Unique’s platform
• Act as the senior technical counterpart to our Hedge Fund Product Expert, translating front-office workflows into reliable agent products
• Represent Unique as the technical authority in client engagements with hedge funds, supporting the full lifecycle from design partner to production deployment
• Collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams to feed deployment patterns and client insights back into the core platform
