Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in foundation relations, fundraising, or relationship management
  • Experience managing funder portfolios and advancing relationships through all stages of the giving/grant cycle
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, including proposal and report writing
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align fundraising with organizational priorities
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex programmatic and financial information into compelling narratives
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ideal candidates will be requested to submit writing samples related to job expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 60-80 institutional funders, advancing relationships through prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Build relationships with prospects and existing funders to increase grant/gift size over time
  • Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans aligned with organizational priorities
  • Lead or coordinate the development of grant proposals, reports, budgets, and supporting materials
  • Collaborate with program, finance, communications, and development teams to gather data and align funding opportunities
  • Maintain strong funder relationships through ongoing communication and stewardship activities
  • Track portfolio performance, manage deadlines, and ensure compliance with all funder requirements
  • Maintain accurate records in fundraising systems and support portfolio analysis and reporting
