About The Position

The mission of the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation is to gather, steward, and distribute resources needed to support and advance the mission of Lake Region Healthcare. Gifts of all types and sizes support everything from equipment and technology to our Cancer Center, spiritual care, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to directly impact your community by working with donors and prospective donors on a number of giving options. The Foundation Development Officer (DO) focuses primarily on frontline fundraising, stewardship, donor engagement and supporting the overall development of LRH Foundation resources. The role is comprised of: (85%) Development: Working in collaboration with the Foundation Development Team to cultivate, solicit, and secure financial resources for the LRH Foundation through annual campaigns, Grateful Patient program referrals, and identifying and qualifying new donor prospects. The position may have portfolio assignments targeting a geographic segment of the region served by Lake Region Healthcare. (10%) Donor Relations: Supporting donor stewardship and retention strategies, donor communications and recognition, and capturing stories to demonstrate the impact of philanthropy. (5%) Assist with gift processing, foundation-hosted events, donor data and other duties as needed to support the culture of generosity across the enterprise. The DO interacts regularly with donors, employees, management, providers, and volunteers. Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential for this position to ensure donors stay engaged and move along the donor pipeline. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality as well as established work procedures and must be able to determine priorities within imposed deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Development, Philanthropy or a related field.
  • Non-Profit Fundraising, Foundation, Capital Campaign, and/or applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process is required.
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible, remote/hybrid work schedule.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft platforms and CRM system(s).
  • Experience with donor relations, fundraising, event planning, and some level of digital CRM platforms (Raisers Edge NXT preferred).
  • Must be able to work collaboratively, under pressure, and able to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Creativity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with other applications (Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT or other CRMs) and dashboards.

  • Preference to those with a Healthcare background.
  • Preference to candidates with connections in target markets of Lake Region Healthcare (Elbow Lake, Morris, and/or Barnesville).
