About The Position

The Foundation Scholarship Officer reports directly to the Director of Advancement. This role oversees and provides support for awarding scholarships through setting and enforcing budgets, maintaining multiple databases, and training and providing support to the campus community. The mission of the UWSP University Advancement Department is to strengthen relationships with university stakeholders and manage engagement by telling the UWSP Story and fundraising activities to secure resources and support for the university’s mission and vision. University Advancement works to increase the resources available to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point by generating philanthropic interests and volunteer support. Advancement oversees activities of the UWSP Alumni Association, Major Gift Officers, development and the UWSP Foundation.

Requirements

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and maintain accuracy in a detail-oriented environment.
Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
Proficiency with databases, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience in higher education, advancement, philanthropy, or nonprofit organizations.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Financial Edge, or similar enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

Implements scholarship/fellowship processes to meet established policies and strategic direction.
Works within the electronic scholarship and/or fellowship system to facilitate the application and awarding process.
Participates in and provides training and support for departments, programs, and students in use of the scholarship system and/or in fellowship and other funding options.
Leads and develops strategy around the implementation and maintenance of scholarships and/or fellowships that accomplish recruitment and retention goals and meet stakeholder intent.
Builds strong relationships with campus and college partners, departments, targeted higher education institutions, and external partners to identify funding opportunities for students and ensure best practices in related activities.
