About The Position

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a dedicated and motivated Foster Supervisor to join our team at our Papago Park Campus. This position is scheduled Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and plays a vital role in advancing AHS's core values of Innovation, Compassion, and Excellence. Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Minimum two years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Minimum two years of experience in customer service role.
  • Experience in veterinary field required.
  • Ability to perform health checks, TPR exams, and vaccinations required.
  • Must be able to handle animals in all conditions.
  • Must be able to train co-workers and volunteers in job duties and safe animal handling.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Able to flourish in a high-volume, fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and be able to resolve conflict.
  • Able to speak, read and write English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Zoom, Outlook, and Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn/use Chameleon software (for use with animals in a shelter environment).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate coaching, training, and feedback for the team, ensuring day-to-day efficiencies.
  • Model and teach Veterinary technical skills, matchmaking, and Foster support.
  • Provide an excellent experience for Foster Heroes, the Foster Team, and the pets served.
  • Promote and support a culture of innovation, compassion, and excellence with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Oversee and assist in the daily coordination and assignment of staff duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure the department is adequately staffed to meet peak demands while maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Partner with Foster Manager to recruit, engage, and retain Foster Heroes.
  • Provide excellent customer service internally and externally, offering escalated support with escalated Foster Heroes.
  • Develop budgets and estimate costs.
