About The Position

Foster Parent Opportunity Make a meaningful difference—right from your home. Kennedy Donovan Center (KDC) is seeking compassionate, dedicated individuals or families to become Foster Parents. In this life‑changing role, you will open your home to a child or teen in need of safety, stability, and support. Foster parents provide a nurturing environment that promotes healing, growth, and connection during a critical time in a young person’s life. About the Role As a Foster Parent, you will welcome a child or youth into your home and provide day‑to‑day care, structure, and emotional support. You’ll work closely with KDC’s foster care team to ensure the child’s needs are met and that they feel safe, valued, and supported. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity to make a direct, lasting impact.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
Have a spare bedroom in your home
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship
Ability to pass background checks (CORI/BRC, fingerprinting, etc.)

Nice To Haves

Experience in caregiving, childcare, or human services preferred—but not required
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach

Responsibilities

Provide a safe and supportive home environment
Assist with daily routines such as meals, school preparation, and transportation
Support emotional and behavioral needs with patience and consistency
Encourage socialization and community involvement
Attend medical, school, and therapeutic appointments as needed
Maintain documentation and communicate regularly with the KDC care team
Collaborate with case managers to support the child’s goals and well‑being
