About The Position

Koinonia Family Services is seeking a dependable and compassionate Foster Care Visitation Monitor to supervise visits between foster children and their birth families in Stockton and surrounding San Joaquin County communities. This position is ideal for someone who lives in or near Stockton and wants meaningful, flexible, part-time work. Most visits take place at a county visitation center, with occasional travel to Koinonia’s Modesto office. A few hours of approved remote work may also be completed each week for supervision, case documentation, required training, and related duties.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Dependable and reliable
Good driving record with a reliable personal vehicle
Good references and ability to pass a criminal record background check
Excellent observational skills and ability to not get distracted during visits
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to establish and maintain effective personal boundaries with children and families
A high degree of integrity and confidentiality
A vehicle that safely accommodates a child car seat.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation as driving is an essential job function.

Responsibilities

Supervise visits between foster children and their birth families at a county visitation center.
Provide transportation for foster children to appointments
Ensure the visitation area is prepared for visits
Document each visit and report any noteworthy concerns
Communicate with social workers about the progress of visits, any concerns, or changes in the child or family's situation
Perform a variety of office-based administrative duties in between visits
Complete a few hours of work remotely each week, including participating in supervision, entering case notes, and completing required training.
Periodically travel to Koinonia’s Modesto office for staff meetings and other duties.
