About The Position

Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) is a non-profit organization serving communities in St. Clair, Lapeer, Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties since the late 1940s. CCSEM provides comprehensive social services that empower individuals and families through skill development and advocacy to manage their environment in order to achieve a healthy quality of life. The agency services approximately 20,000 persons annually, with a strong commitment to family life and a profound concern for human life, emphasizing low-income and poor families. We are seeking an individual to work as a Foster Care Case Manager in our Child Welfare Program in Southfield. This individual must have a passion for working with children and understand that we are here to reunite families. The Foster Care Case Manager will provide case management services to families and children in the Child Welfare system.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Human Services related field.
Attend 9 weeks of CWTI training and receive a passing grade on two examinations prior to receiving a full caseload.
Great communication skills.
Empathetic.
Able to be open and honest with families.
Able to work as a team with all involved parties.
Highly organized.
Competent with technology (MiSACWIS).
Able to manage time effectively and work independently.
Demonstrate professionalism.

Nice To Haves

One year experience in a direct adoptive service, child welfare or related services.

Responsibilities

Provide case management services to families and children in the Child Welfare system.
Learn the requirements, policies and procedures.
Write reports.
Conduct home visits.
Attend court hearings.
