About The Position

Ode, Anthropic's services venture, is defining frontier AI by bringing complex AI systems into production. The Ode team tackles challenging AI problems for companies, collaborating with their Applied AI and Product teams to achieve real-world impact. Backed by major investors and with offices in SF, NYC, Raleigh-Durham, and Dubai, Ode is seeking its first Forward Deployed Product Manager dedicated to Financial Services. This role will establish and lead a product vertical within the Financial Services sector, transforming frontier AI into practical solutions for banks, asset managers, and finance teams. The position offers the opportunity to shape how Ode sells, scopes, and delivers in this space, with a clear path to building the Financial Services product team.

Requirements

Deep financial services experience, having built products for or worked inside banks, lenders, asset or wealth managers, fintechs, or a CFO organization.
Understanding of how financial institutions make decisions, their workflows, and their decision-making processes.
A product and delivery track record, typically 6–8+ years across product, consulting, implementation, or operations, including shipping multiple products with engineers and designers.
Demonstrated ability in high-stakes client leadership, including pushing back, reframing problems, and maintaining quality standards with senior executives.
Comfort with regulated environments, having shipped through model risk, compliance, security, and procurement processes.
Technical fluency, including understanding LLM-based systems, reasoning about engineering and architecture tradeoffs, and defining "good" through evaluations and acceptance criteria.
Structured thinking and clear communication skills.
Builder mindset, with experience creating something beyond individual projects (e.g., a playbook, practice, offering, or team).
Ownership and comfort with ambiguity, thriving on novel problems and making sound calls with incomplete information.
Team-first mentality, raising the bar for colleagues, sharing knowledge, and prioritizing team success.

Nice To Haves

A finance foundation: banking, credit, investment research, corporate finance, accounting, or FP&A.
Experience shipping AI or automation into document-heavy, high-stakes workflows such as underwriting, KYC/AML, research, or close.
Forward-deployed, solutions, or consulting experience with named-account accountability.
An existing network across FS buyers and practitioners.
Experience mentoring or managing PMs, or standing up a new practice.

Responsibilities

Lead Financial Services engagements end-to-end, owning the client relationship from business-line leaders to risk, compliance, and IT.
Shape product development by turning ambiguous goals into clear problem statements, user workflows, and success metrics for areas like underwriting, KYC/AML, investment research, portfolio reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and FP&A.
Ship products in a regulated environment by navigating model risk management, data governance, security reviews, audit trails, and vendor risk processes.
Drive adoption and lasting outcomes by partnering with client teams on rollout, training, and change management, and measuring impact.
Build the Financial Services vertical by identifying repeatable patterns across clients and turning them into playbooks, solution patterns, evaluations, and reference architectures.
Generate demand by partnering with leadership and go-to-market teams on discovery conversations, scoping, and proposals, bringing a point of view on AI value creation in financial services.
Act as Ode's FS product expert, coaching other FDPMs and engineers on FS workflows, regulation, and buyer dynamics.
Help build the team by shaping the FS FDPM hiring profile, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new PMs.
