About The Position

Own the technical customer journey from implementation through adoption. As Ribbon’s Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll work directly with customers to understand their hiring workflows, configure Ribbon for their needs, and help them successfully launch AI-powered recruiting across their teams. You’ll sit at the intersection of customers, product, engineering, and customer success. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving customer problems, working with software, and turning real-world workflows into scalable product solutions. Requirements

  • Has 1+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation, technical support, or a similar technical customer-facing role.
  • Is comfortable working with APIs, integrations, data flows, technical troubleshooting, and software implementation workflows.
  • Has experience with, or strong interest in learning, ATS integrations, webhooks, data mapping, and SaaS implementation.
  • Has any experience with ATS integrations, including building, implementing, supporting, or troubleshooting systems like Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, iCIMS, Workday, UKG, or similar platforms.
  • Can quickly understand how different ATS platforms are structured, including workflows, fields, statuses, and candidate data mapping.
  • Has experience with, or strong interest in, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, SQL, REST APIs, or similar technical tools.
  • Enjoys working directly with customers and can explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Is organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple customer projects, requirements, timelines, and follow-ups.
  • Is curious, resourceful, and excited to solve ambiguous customer problems in a fast-moving startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical implementation for customers, from onboarding and configuration through launch and ongoing optimization.
  • Understand each customer’s hiring process, workflows, systems, and success metrics to help tailor Ribbon to their needs.
  • Configure customer environments, interview flows, scoring criteria, integrations, reporting, and launch plans.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues, investigate bugs, document edge cases, and work closely with Engineering to resolve problems quickly.
  • Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Product, and Engineering to improve implementations, share customer insights, and turn repeatable needs into scalable solutions.
