Forward Deployed Engineer
About The Position
Our client is a high-growth, venture-backed AI startup building a next-generation data platform for private equity, private credit, and venture capital firms. Their product unlocks insights from fragmented, unstructured institutional data—helping top investors make faster and more informed decisions. Backed by leading investors and founded by experienced operators from top tech companies, the company is at an early but high-traction stage, working directly with some of the most sophisticated financial institutions globally. Requirements
- 3–8 years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role (FDE, Solutions Engineer, TAM, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers in a technical capacity
- Ability to build demos, prototypes, and data-driven applications
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, etc.)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- High ownership mindset and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
Nice To Haves
- Experience in financial services (private equity, venture capital, credit)
- Experience at AI-native startups or data infrastructure companies
- Background combining software engineering + customer-facing work
- Experience working with messy/unstructured data and data pipelines
- Familiarity with modern AI tooling (vector DBs, LangChain, etc.)
- Strong understanding of enterprise workflows and stakeholder management
Responsibilities
- Own the technical relationship with enterprise customers (pre- and post-sales)
- Build custom demos and solutions using customer data (structured + unstructured sources)
- Design and deliver technical proofs-of-concept to support deal cycles
- Support implementations including data integrations, pipelines, and lightweight deployments
- Work closely with customers (analysts, operators, executives) to understand workflows
- Translate customer needs into product improvements and reusable features
- Build and maintain reusable demo environments and technical assets
- Partner with engineering and GTM teams to drive successful deployments
