About The Position

Broccoli is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate directly with customers and shape the successful, large-scale deployment of Broccoli's AI solutions. This role is a blend of engineering, product, and customer operations, focusing on ownership of deployments, building integrations, resolving live issues, and transforming customer-specific requirements into scalable systems. As an early member of this team, the individual will play a key role in developing the strategies, tools, and structure for the Forward Deployed Engineering function. This position is well-suited for individuals who thrive in ambiguous environments, prioritize rapid development, enjoy direct customer interaction, and are adept at building solutions from the ground up.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or other highly technical customer-facing roles
• Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to write and ship production-quality code
• Experience owning ambiguous technical problems end to end with minimal oversight
• Ability to work directly with customers and translate between business needs and engineering execution
• Good judgment on when to build something bespoke and when to create scalable, reusable solutions
• Strong communication skills and a high sense of ownership
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience building API integrations with vertical SaaS platforms such as ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro, or similar systems
• Experience with voice AI, conversational systems, or real-time production workflows
• Previous experience in a forward deployed engineering model or post-sales technical deployment role
• Experience in home services, field services, or other operationally complex vertical software environments
• Experience as an early hire helping define a new technical function

Responsibilities

• Own the technical success of customer deployments from scoping through launch
• Work directly with customers to understand workflows, operational constraints, and integration requirements
• Build and maintain integrations, configurations, internal tools, and customer-specific solutions needed to make Broccoli work in production
• Debug live issues across voice, workflows, integrations, and agent behavior in high-stakes environments
• Translate customer needs into technical requirements and partner closely with engineering to drive fixes and product improvements
• Identify patterns across deployments and turn one-off requests into repeatable processes, tooling, or platform capabilities
• Help establish best practices, playbooks, and technical standards for the Forward Deployed Engineering function
