Role Summary The Forward-Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a hybrid technical and customer-facing role focused entirely on end-to-end project delivery and long-term customer success. You will be staffed on our biggest projects and partner with our most strategic clients for extended engagements, taking ownership of the implementation from initial data discovery all the way through to the final production rollout. You will use your Python and data skills to deeply analyze customer workflows, deploy production-ready multi-agent AI solutions, and ensure sustained business value. This role is ideal for a data scientist, software engineer, or analytics professional who loves working deeply with customers and wants to drive lasting, full-scale enterprise transformation.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in Data Science, Business Analytics, Implementation, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or a related field.
• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Proven experience executing or supporting complex data migration projects.
• Hands-on experience building new integrations with edge systems.
• Highly Coachable: You have a strong growth mindset. You actively seek out feedback, are eager to learn from senior team members, and are highly willing to adjust or rethink your approaches when faced with new information or challenges.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites 1 to 3 times a month on average, pending client needs, primarily within the U.S.
• Comfortable writing Python scripts to solve real-world data problems and build robust system integrations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences over the course of a long-term project.
• Comfortable operating under ambiguity and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Data Science & Analytics: Strong foundational knowledge of statistics, business analytics, or data science principles.
• Software Development: Strong foundational knowledge of Python (including libraries like Pandas or NumPy) for data manipulation, scripting, and automation. You must be proficient using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate development and rapidly iterate on production code.
• Enterprise Systems: A strong understanding of APIs and how modern software systems communicate in production environments. You must be comfortable working directly within Microsoft D365 CRM and SAP S/4 HANA.
• Applied AI: A strong curiosity and foundational understanding of large language models (LLMs) and how AI can be securely and effectively applied to business problems at scale.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with systems like Salesforce, Snowflake, or other SAP modules is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Delivery & Analytics: Lead technical deep-dive sessions with clients during extended engagements to map their complex data landscapes, business processes, and pain points to robust, production-grade AI workflows.
• System Implementation & Deployment: Build, deploy, and maintain custom multi-agent AI systems using Python and Tessera’s AI tools, moving beyond simple POCs to deliver fully operationalized solutions that drive tangible business value.
• Data Wrangling, Migration & Integration: Analyze, clean, and transform customer data to power live AI workflows. You will take a leading role in executing complex data migration projects and architecting robust, production-ready integrations with various edge systems.
• Technical Communication: Act as the primary technical liaison for our largest clients, translating complex statistical or technical concepts into clear business outcomes, project milestones, and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Gather deep, real-world insights from long-term client engagements and share feedback with the Product and Engineering teams to help shape our core platform roadmap based on live production use cases.
