About The Position

PCS is undergoing an AI transformation and is expanding its technology team with a roadmap for automation across Operations, Sales, Finance, and other departments. The Forward Deployed AI Engineer will be responsible for driving this roadmap into production. This role involves embedding with various departments, training teams on AI usage, and building and deploying AI solutions. It is a high-ownership execution role where success is measured by the production adoption of AI tools, measurable workflow improvements, and the proficiency of PCS team members in using AI.

Requirements

4–7 years of software engineering experience.
Hands-on work with LLMs, AI agents, or generative AI in production.
Stakeholder-facing skills, including interacting with non-technical users and translating needs into systems.
Full-stack development capabilities, including writing production code, designing data pipelines, integrating with ERPs, and standing up front-end interfaces.
Strong execution skills with the ability to take initiatives from intake to production adoption independently.
Teaching and explanation skills to convey how built solutions work and how others can use them.
A bias towards shipping solutions quickly.

Nice To Haves

Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), agent orchestration frameworks, RAG pipelines, or eval-driven AI development.
Background in supply chain, wireless, distribution, refurb, or reverse-logistics workflows.
Exposure to NetSuite, SQL, Power BI, Jira, Confluence.
Experience building and rolling out internal AI tooling that achieved adoption.

Responsibilities

Embed with departments (Operations, Sales, Pricing, Finance, Commercial, etc.) to understand workflows, map manual processes, and translate them into technical scopes.
Build and ship AI solutions end-to-end, executing against a prioritized roadmap by scoping, designing, building, and deploying agents and integrations on existing MCP, ERP, SQL, and Power BI stack.
Train and enable teams through hands-on sessions, building internal playbooks, prompt libraries, and reusable patterns to empower them to solve problems with AI.
Partner with department leaders to serve as the trusted technical contact for AI application, translating their input into deliverables that align with the broader roadmap.
Follow established quality standards to build evaluable, observable, and safe AI agents, contributing to and reinforcing team patterns for AI deployment.
Feed learnings from deployed agents back to leadership and the platform team to continuously improve the roadmap and underlying infrastructure.
