About The Position

This position is responsible for reconstituting calibrator materials, vialing of detection/capture antibodies, calibrators, and/or assembling of antibody set products. The role involves handling temperature and light-sensitive reagents, preparing manufacturing records, reconstituting calibrators, diluting and blending antibody/calibrator materials, aliquoting materials, assembling vial sets, and printing labels according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to produce final goods for MSD customers. A key responsibility includes performing peer review of product labels before vialing as the initial quality check. The technician may also operate automated vialing, bottling, labeling, or lyophilizing equipment, perform basic equipment troubleshooting, and manufacture customer contract materials with specialized requirements. They will execute reworking of non-conforming products according to established protocols, assist with inventory control by issuing or completing materials for work orders, and support the Lead Formulation Technician with training other manufacturing personnel. Handling BSL-2 reagents for calibrator product production may also be required. The role contributes to improving routine manufacturing processes for better quality and quantity of products and involves completing appropriate documentation for processes, production, data entry, batch records, and daily equipment maintenance. General laboratory upkeep, including maintaining cleanliness, supplies, and equipment, managing reagent inventories, maintaining pipette calibration schedules, participating in physical inventory, and defrosting freezers, is also part of the duties. Specific duties may vary based on departmental needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering or related field; or an equivalent of associate degree and two years of applicable work experience.
Demonstrates an aptitude for learning and adhering to standard laboratory techniques and safety precautions.
Thorough knowledge of scientific fundamentals with an analytical background.
Thorough knowledge of pipetting required.
Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Effectively communicate issues/problems and results that impact timelines, accuracy and reliability of laboratory data.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Ability to multi-task and work productively in a demanding manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
Ability to learn additional software applications/tools, as required.
Ability to utilize equipment necessary to perform the essential duties of the job.
Ability to move/lift up to 25 pounds.
