Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in concrete formwork within heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong understanding of formwork systems (e.g., Symons, EFCO, Peri, custom-built) and concrete construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in layout and use of levels, lasers, and other site surveying tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment and adapt to changing site conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of formwork crews including carpenters, laborers, and apprentices.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine formwork layout and methods.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trade foremen to sequence work and manage scheduling.
  • Oversee installation and removal of form systems for footings, walls, piers, abutments, culverts, and other structural concrete elements.
  • Ensure proper bracing, alignment, and safety compliance of all formwork systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of crew time, material usage, and production tracking.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce all company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Assist with material takeoffs and ordering of formwork supplies and equipment.
  • Mentor crew members and participate in hands-on work as needed.
