About The Position

SafeLease is seeking a detail-driven Senior Insurance Forms Analyst to join their pricing team. This role will be responsible for the language of insurance products across both commercial and personal lines. The analyst will draft, refine, and maintain policy forms, endorsements, and manuscript wordings, and manage the regulatory filing process. This position requires a keen eye for coverage intent, precision, and compliance, working closely with underwriting, product, legal, claims, and carrier partners to ensure clarity, defensibility, competitiveness, and consistency in policy wordings.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, English, Legal Studies, or a related field, or a JD. Relevant experience and demonstrated skills can substitute for formal education.
  • 3+ years drafting or managing commercial lines policy forms, endorsements, or coverage wordings, or comparable insurance coverage/legal experience.
  • Strong grasp of both commercial and personal lines coverages, ISO forms, manuscript wordings, and policy construction.
  • Familiarity with state filing processes and SERFF; understanding of admitted and non-admitted regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional written precision, with the ability to spot ambiguity, unintended coverage, and gaps in policy language.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across underwriting, legal, and claims.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage many forms, editions, and filings in parallel.

Nice To Haves

  • E&S / non-admitted experience is a plus.
  • Insurance designations such as CPCU, or a legal background in insurance coverage, are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, revise, and maintain base policy forms, endorsements, exclusions, definitions, and manuscript wordings for commercial lines products.
  • Translate underwriting and product intent into precise, unambiguous policy language that holds up at claim time.
  • Build and maintain a library of standardized clauses and reusable endorsement language to ensure consistency across both commercial and personal lines products.
  • Analyze coverage intent, identify unintended grants, gaps, and overlaps, and recommend wording changes to close them.
  • Compare our forms against ISO standard forms and competitor manuscript wordings to guide differentiation and coverage positioning.
  • Partner with product and underwriting to bring new coverages and product enhancements to market on the wording side.
  • Prepare and manage form filings with state departments of insurance, including submissions through SERFF, and track approvals and objections.
  • Ensure forms comply with admitted and non-admitted (E&S) requirements and company policy, conducting independent research of state statutes where required.
  • Coordinate with legal resources and carrier personnel to obtain necessary approvals for coverage and forms changes.
  • Work with underwriting, claims, legal, and technology teams to align wording with operational reality and system configuration.
  • Advise claims on coverage interpretation and feed lessons from claims disputes back into wording improvements.
  • Support sales and underwriting with clear explanations of coverage grants, conditions, and exclusions.
  • Maintain version control, edition dating, and documentation for all forms and endorsements across the portfolio.
  • Monitor regulatory change, case law, and emerging exposures, and update wordings proactively to manage coverage and litigation risk.
