Forming Operator - Graveyard shift

About The Position

Under direct supervision, level one Forming Operators will perform a variety of entry-level forming tasks. These tasks require basic competencies in determining the right tool for the job, reading technical documents, prints, and work instructions by using templates, jigs, and fixtures to execute forming operations to customer specifications. In addition, level one Forming Operators may use basic hand tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers to verify part dimensions and have evidence of strong mechanical aptitude.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of shop math.
  • Ability to use basic computer functions.
  • Ability to read and understand English to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic operation of equipment to produce to rate and meet quality standards.
  • Sets up and operates forming, deburring, manual heading, and automated heading machines to create sleeves or other products.
  • Operates automated sleeve machine and changes rolls as needed.
  • Monitors machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary and stops machines if issues occur.
  • Performs lubing, bluecoat, gritblast, sleeve washing, or packaging as needed.
  • Follows all company safety policies (including proper PPE and machine operation) and maintains an organized workspace (6S).
  • Other duties as assigned.
