Requirements

Previous experience with bottle tongs, hand tools, swabs, conveyors, ware gauges, computer terminal, etc. and materials including molten glass, molds, oil, dope, gloves, compressed air, etc.
Ability to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and some holiday coverage
Ability to work safely in a hot, dirty and loud environment
Commitment to meeting quality standards, comply with SOP’s, and willing to learn SPC
Must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Forming Operator Journeyman Card required
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

Operates the bottle forming machine, tools and equipment.
Performs defect analysis (gauging and visual) and makes necessary adjustments to the machine, feeder, stacker, etc.
Assists with breakdown repairs and job changes.
Performs necessary doping and swabbing of mold equipment.
Adjusts temperatures of mold equipment to the feeder and changes, or assists in changing, blanks, molds, and finish mold.
Records the reason for mold changes.
Reports any bad glass, bad machine conditions, or defective machine parts which cannot be corrected to crew-leaders and supervisors.
May be assigned responsibility for additional equipment, up to and including, the point at which the bottles enter the lehr.
Gauges weight and selected physical dimensions on complete set-out and/or random sample and records using the computer terminal.
Re-qualifies all cavities following any major downtime.
