About The Position

The Forming Competitiveness Specialist is responsible for ensuring the correct definition and execution of key Competitive Strategies by collaborating with the Operations Intelligence Team and Plant Finance Teams to achieve financial performance goals. This role provides technical support for the execution of stamping competitiveness roadmaps (NSPM, Labor Cost) and follows up with Plant Functional Teams (stamping). The specialist will lead and follow up with plants on competitiveness forums, acting as a liaison between Operations Intelligence and Light Truck Vehicle Plant Functional Teams to identify and deploy strategies that enhance performance. Additionally, the role supports the definition and deployment of new program processes to align with Plant of the Future Concepts, enabling future competitiveness and business models. Effective management of Plant CAPEX & Maintenance Projects across all LV Plant Operations Strategies is crucial. The specialist will work with plants to develop Competitiveness Roadmaps for Core Processes to meet MPC Parameters (Transformation Cost, Stamping – capacity, cost/stroke, NSPM, etc.) and collaborate with Procurement to define long-term Stamping Strategies (make vs. buy). Defining key strategies for each plant to facilitate their transition to Next Generation Platforms and leading the definition of disruptive low-cost operation models (in-house knowledge and benchmarks) are also key responsibilities. The role actively supports the winning business process by providing key inputs for value proposals, including Mfg. Model, Footprint, Collaterals, and Assembly Com (ACE). Other duties may be performed at the Elizabethtown, KY facility as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field of study.
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered, or in maintenance and/or manufacturing engineering position within the automotive chassis frame industry.
  • Experience must include the preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of hydroforming plant.
  • Hands-on experience in the maintenance of CAPEX implementation.
  • Experience can be gained concurrently.
