About The Position

The Forming Competitiveness Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the correct definition and execution of key Competitive Strategies by working with the Operations Intelligence Team and Plant Finance Teams to meet financial performance. This role involves providing technical support for stamping competitiveness roadmap execution (NSPM, Labor Cost) and following up with Plant Functional Teams. The specialist will lead and follow up with Plants on competitiveness forums and serve as a bridge between Operations Intelligence and Light Truck Vehicle Plant Functional Teams for strategy identification and technical deployment. Additionally, the role supports new program process definition and deployment to align with Plant of the Future Concepts, manages Plant CAPEX & Maintenance Projects, develops Competitiveness Roadmaps for Core Processes to meet MPC Parameters, and works with Procurement to define long-term Stamping Strategy (make vs. buy). The specialist will also define key strategies for plants to enable their transition for Next Generation Platforms, lead disruptive low-cost operation models, and actively support the winning business process through key inputs for the value proposal. This position is located at the Elizabethtown, KY facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field of study.
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered, or in maintenance and/or manufacturing engineering position within the automotive chassis frame industry.
  • Experience must include the preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of hydroforming plant.
  • Must have hands-on experience in the maintenance of CAPEX implementation.
  • Experience can be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the correct definition and execution of key Competitive Strategies by working with the Operations Intelligence Team and Plant Finance Teams to meet financial performance.
  • Providing technical support and follow-up with Plant Functional Teams for stamping competitiveness roadmap execution (NSPM, Labor Cost).
  • Leading and following up with Plants on competitiveness forums.
  • Serving as a bridge between Operations Intelligence and all Light Truck Vehicle Plant’s Functional Teams for adequate strategies identification and technical deployment to boost performance.
  • Supporting new program process definition and deployment to ensure alignment with Plant of the Future Concepts that enables future competitiveness and business model.
  • Effective Plant CAPEX & Maintenance Projects Management across all LV Plant’s Operations Strategy.
  • Working with Plants to develop Competitiveness Roadmaps for Core Processes to meet MPC Parameters (Transformation Cost, Stamping – capacity, cost/stroke, NSPM, etc.).
  • Working with Procurement to define the long-term Stamping Strategy (make vs. buy).
  • Defining key strategies for each plant to enable their long-term transition for Next Generation Platforms.
  • Leading disruptive low-cost operation models definition (in-house knowledge and benchmarks).
  • Actively supporting the winning business process through key inputs for the value proposal such as the Mfg. Model, Footprint, Collaterals, Assembly Com (ACE), etc.
  • Performing other duties/responsibilities at the Elizabethtown, KY facility, as needed.
