About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Forming Carpenter to join our construction team. This position focuses on architectural and free-form concrete formwork as well as the construction of traditional landscape carpentry elements such as decks, pergolas, and fences. The successful candidate will bring skill, precision, and pride to every project — from custom concrete stairways and walls to finely built outdoor structures. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience, including architectural and detailed concrete formwork.
  • Experience constructing outdoor landscape structures such as decks, pergolas, and fences.
  • Strong understanding of form design and construction, rise over run calculations, and the 3-4-5 method and other basic construction math formulas
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and concrete forming systems (snap ties, walers, bracing).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and elevations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and formwork plans.
  • Build precise formwork for walls, stairs, architectural features, foundations, and structural slabs.
  • Execute high-end architectural and exposed concrete finishes.
  • Use walers, snap ties, and bracing systems for accurate, stable formwork.
  • Strip and prepare forms safely and efficiently.
  • Construct decks, pergolas, fences, and other custom outdoor structures.
  • Perform detailed finish carpentry for exterior landscape elements.
  • Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.
  • Train and mentor junior team members to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with site leaders and project managers to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
  • Uphold Fossil’s high standards for accuracy, craftsmanship, and finish quality.
  • Follow company safety protocols and ensure safe use of tools and equipment.
  • Work efficiently outdoors year-round in varying conditions.
