About The Position

This position is responsible for following all company safety guidelines, reading production sheets, and quickly identifying and communicating quality defects to machine operators. The role involves performing quality checks using tools like micrometers and tape measures, ensuring accurate load tags and acceptable appearance of units, and utilizing basic computer skills for data entry. The job requires excellent verbal and written communication, basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication), and the ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work in varying temperatures, and maintain a professional attitude and conduct. Other job-related duties may be assigned, and passing a background check, drug screen, and physical are required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications
  • Working knowledge of product quality specifications
  • Working knowledge of quality standards
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • May regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • 6 months’ experience as a Bundler.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety guidelines.

  • Able to read a tape measure up to 1/16” variance
  • Ensure all units have an accurate load tag and the appearance meets plant’s requirements
  • Basic Computer Skills (Data Entry)

  • Ability to add, subtract, & multiply
  • Able to work extended work hours and weekends, as needed
