As a Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Technician, you will repair and maintain electric and propane industrial lift trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and/or cherry pickers. You will follow manuals and use hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of electrical, power transmission, brake, and other mechanical systems. This role involves managing the repair of MHE, including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. You will conduct preventive maintenance (PM's) within manufacturer's guidelines/specifications and established timelines, which includes oil changes, filter changes, calibration of equipment, belts changes, inspections, adjustments, and lubrication. The technician will be responsible for logging time and materials into a computerized maintenance management system and must interpret and understand plans, specifications, schematics, and operating and maintenance manuals. Additionally, you will assist battery technicians with battery charger repairs, battery changes for MHE, repair of plugs and tips of batteries and chargers, watering and washing batteries, and acid spill cleanup. You will also assist the building and refrigeration maintenance teams with general building repairs, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, and refrigeration systems repair and maintenance.
